ABOUT NEW CITY KIDS
POSITION SUMMARY
SCOPE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Accounts payable and vendor management: intake invoices from vendors, code to proper accounts and departments, and schedule for payment. Manage vendor inquiries and work with vendors for payment optimization and account reconciliation.
- Cash receipts and bank reconciliations: record cash receipts into accounting software, reconcile accounting software records with donor management system, and perform monthly bank reconciliations.
- Accounting and recordkeeping: record accounting transactions related to accounts payable, grants, receivables, and select month-end accruals. Perform month end close reconciliations in conjunction with Senior Accountant.
- Records maintenance: Organize and maintain data around cash receipts and cash disbursements for easy access.
- Teamwork: Coordinate and collaborate with Senior Accountant. Interact across departments to gain necessary information for accurate accounting.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required.
- 2+ years of experience in an accounting role, with a track record of progressively increasing responsibility.
- Foundational understanding of accounts payable and accounting.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Experience working with enterprise level accounting software (Sage Intacct preferred).
- Prior experience in a nonprofit organization is a plus.
- This position is required to work in our onsite office in Grand Rapids, MI.

- Hours: 20-24 hours per week; 3 days a week
- Location: Grand Rapids, MI
- Reports to: New City Kids Chief Financial Officer
- Pay Range: $19-$22 per hour
